My rear calipers locked up some time ago and now i have really bad brake dust deposits on my aluminum rims. I have tried several things, including aluminum wheel polish dishwashing liquid even oven cleaner. the oven cleaner worked somewhat but i am scared it will ruin my wheels. the dust is REALLY on there good, any help would be greatly appreciated.
whats the best way to remove severe brake dust?

There are cleaners, usually spray-on, designed to clean brake dust off rims. Something like:

A good Pressure washer seems to do the job for me every 4-5 days but I usually wash the car at least once a week so brake dust isn't a big deal for me, unless its Fall and I dont wash it as much as I would in the Summer.

As mentioned, you can use a spray on/hose off formulation or go old school: whip up a dilute solution of Simple Green and water. You need a soft brush to get into the nooks but SG works like a charm and smells nice, too. You might try a search at autopia.org, too.
From Autopia, here are some good cleaners (use with caution, read the directions, don't leave them on for too long, etc., etc.):
Meg’s Wheel Brightener (caution: acidic cleaner – can ruin your rims)
Sonax Full Wheel Cleaner
Detail King’s Brake Up
Automagic
Grime Reaper
P21S (from Germany, not acidic like Meguiar's WB) and is very effective on stubborn brake dust.
