Whats the deal with mustangs these days

Alright just before I say anything I am a ford fan to the heart.
Ive been looking into getting a new truck and Im looking into aftermarket performance. Ive gotten right into the newer GM trucks with the LS1 these things seem like they have amazing potential. Anyone had and encounters with modded LS1 trucks. I wanna hear stories.

I have heard that a few times!!! 700r4 will not live behind that motor.

There is a guy parrish up north with a 4x4 1500 Silverado i beleive.. Anyhow.. its got a LS1 worked to be a 408, heads n cam, and it runs low 10's. He drives it everywhere... its a nice truck.

I am pretty sure that truck now puts down over 1000hp

lightnings, and the 5.4 trucks can be seriously fast.. the 5.4 150 we had was STRONG for a stock truck.. it was loaded to, 5.4 w/ HD tranny, 4.10s and L/S rearend

No sorry what I meant with the title was that I keep hearing all these stories about mustangs getting killed by mildly modded LS1 trucks. The reason for a truck is that it is alot more useful than a car....I mean c`mon who wouldnt rather have a 4x4 truck that you could use everyday for work but it ran 11`s or better.

P.S. the reason Im saying mustangs is because they have and always will be my favorite car.

Im sorry but this thread is soo stupid. Im not aware of "ls1" trucks consistently beating on mustangs. Maybe where he lives theres some really lame stangers and a lot of hicks with super modified ls1 trucks. Yes I dont dispute that you can make a chevy truck super fast with the badass ls1 engine but you still have a truck. Maybe its jus me but with the exception of the lightning I really feel trucks should be used like trucks. Its making my head hurt tryin to think of the point of making this thread. The poster says he loves mustangs but he wants a fast chevy truck. Uh, well go build one....

If set up right I think muscle trucks are bad ass. I just hate the guys that put headers and straight pipes on their trucks that try to race me at every stoplight, but you know what a full size truck is still a full size truck. you are looking at close to 6k lbs of metal and it takes a lot to get them moving. with the same mods to the motor a mustang or any other car for that matter will smoke the pants off of a truck. that said ,I still think it's cool to flog a full size truck throught the 1/4 in under 12 sec.
