I noticed a funny thing today. We have been talking about not seeing any Ford Escorts around. A local online auction was closing bits on items today including this...

1998 Escort 2dr, auto. It is listed as only having 11,382 km (yes 7,069 miles). It sold for $925 (plus fees).

Amazingly if you search, you can still find this gem from 2004. How I wish the Stangnet crash never wiped out that thread.

For the newbs. This was my car

That is still all over the web in multiple memes and forums. The Stangnet wipeout had little affect on it.

Yeah, but I had a thread on stangnet that was live as it blew up. It went from “hey this was funny” to “holy the emails won’t stop coming in”

I got an email from supposedly ron jeremy’s agent offering a signed photo. I didn’t take it

I would have turned it down. If Ron Jeremy signed it, then he probably touched it, which means the photo could have gonorrhea.

Seriously, emails though about that??

I can’t make out what this guy is trying to say..,(something about an Escort)
Maybe if he’d use Full sentences it’d make more sense. But as it is currently written, it’s just abbreviated nonsensical bull sht.

It's text speak, it's the new thing. You are going to have to learn to read it if you want to live comfortably in this World for a few more years.

My father had taken a vacation to Europe in the past. He shipped a Ford Escort to ride around in while he was there for some reason. The car had 250,000+ miles on it when he sent it. He sold the car in Italy after adding another 150,000 miles to it during his trip.

People would approach my father and attempt to purchase the car. This happened in several towns throughout Europe.

His sentence structure is as good as your math. 350k-250k is 100k. Please don't PM me that I am hurting your feelings. I'm just busting your balls.

Question:

Why would somebody ship an Escort to Europe to ride around in?

Europe has plenty of ty cars already.

...and the damned steering wheel is on the wrong side.

He's just ahead of his time. I have been at this computer piss drunk before typing out perfectly articulate sentences. I honestly have no idea why people write like that these days. Go pull a thread from 15 years ago on Stangnet, and you didn't see this type of writing. I have friends that are mods on other forums, and they don't even allow it; instant delete. Forums are a global thing; we just had a member from Sweden asking how to do an intake swap. When English is your second language, being forced to navigate through a run on sentence like that is 10 times harder.

When you are in the military, they ship your car for you. Lots of friends I know brought there cars to Europe when they were stationed there. I had a friend ship a car with a 3 digit value over there. Cars are cheaper in the US. And you do realize that in Europe, they have the steering wheel on the same side of the car as we do right? The only places that have the steering wheel on the wrong side are Countries with no land boundaries to other Countries.

I think Dad went on vacation so, no military shipping. And it was the Brits I was thinking of.

Ok so, yeah I think that is a better translation. Shipping a car to Europe is pretty cheap. My dad shipped his Mercedes there about a decade ago for about $600. It's registering a car in Europe that costs a fortune. My dad drove his Mercedes in Norway for 4 years with a Florida tag on it.

Yup. Tons and tons of emails and phone calls. I had to shut my phone off for a few days. It even made a late night new show of “what’s trending”
