Im looking at the back passenger sied of my 97 stang. The part highlighted with the circle is part of the pipe/bar that goes from left to right. The right side seems to have come loose or broken off and is being only supported by the left side. Going over bumps causes the pipe/bar to bang around and is pretty loud. Anyone know what part this is? How much it may cost to fix?

If needed, ill try and get a closer picture.

anyone know how much a new rear sway bar runs? and how much labor Im looking at paying for it to be fixed?

It's not hard to install. I had to remove mine when I lowered the car. It's only a couple bolts in each side (I think).

This comes up now and again that the rear anti-sway bar breaks on our cars. You could probably buy a replacement fairly cheap used, but how about looking to upgrade when things fail?

Since I cant get a new one for a while, am I looking at any downside to just taking the broken one out? It doesnt seem like a 'critical' part, but I figure any downside has to be better then hearing a loud clanging noise every time I hit a bump.
