What's this goo oozing from my shifter??

Tremec TKO with Steeda Tri-Ax shifter. When I removed the shifter bezel today, I found a grey colored grease (??) puddled at the base of the shifter. I don't remember seeing this before. Is this normal?

im not sure where you are talkin about, but the only grey grease that comes to mind is never seize. that or graphite.... could it be one of them?
what does the grease taste like? (J/K, sorry). im like a little kid.

My pro 5.0 has a big dollop of what looks like white grease lubricating the ball joint where the handle meets the base...I think that gray stuff may just be melted lube.

It has a bit of a metallic flavor, with a sweet aftertaste. Oops - looks like I'm letting my inner-child slip out as well. Next thing you know, I'll be back in diapers.
