This part flops around under my dash. It has a couple of (not working) fasteners at the top corners. If someone can shed a light what it's purpose is, it would be much appreciated. I'd like to tighten it up, not sure what to use, the fasteners don't look like any screws I've seen. When I push it back and tighten the fasteners they don't bite on anything.

That is an air distribution duct, that blows air on your feet. I’m not completely sure if it is a heater only part. The AC cars seems to have a slightly different part in the 1967. But, here is a link for the fasteners.:
