What's up with the idiot Ford Dealerships.

I go to the Ford Dealership to testdrive and possibly buy a new 2005 Mustang GT and no one even bothers coming out of their office or cubicle?

They just look over every once in a while and don't get off of their lazy arses.

This has happened at TWO dealerships here.

They both have 6 Mustang GT's that have been on the lot for over 2 months.

What the heck do you have to do to get them to come over.

And I will NEVER come to them, that is the first step in the power struggle I won't get tricked into doing. You start pursuing them, they gotcha.

Guess I will just keep on goin to the Chevy dealer.

ill be honest i prefer that they leave me alone. when im ready i usually go right to the sales manager.

You would be delerious with my dealer. You can't even get your car door closed before two or three of them are in your face. I kid you not, one day I had an appointment with the fleet manager, and before I got to his office, not less than five different salespersons asked me "how they could help me".

Geez I'm glad when the salespeople don't bother me. If I want something I'll go get them. There's no power struggle, you should know what you want to pay and what's fair to you, and it shouldn't matter who does what first.

Boy you are lucky. I rather be left alone for a while so I can get a good look at the car. I hate it when they come bother you right away. If you dont want to go and ask for help then I guess you are stuck. Why do you think if you ask for help they got you? Are you a sucker that gets talked into buying something you dont want? Just because you ask for help and test drive a car dosent mean you have to buy it.

Then go to the Chevy dealer. They make better cars anyway.

Gee when I go to a delaer. I ignore the salesmen. When they come out to talk to me. I still ignore them. Only when I am ready to talk. Then I want them to come to me. or I will go to them.

I have the benefit of having a team of Future Ford fellas that I have dealt with 5 times..... 93 Explorer / 96 Explorer / 98 Mustang / 03 Mustang and the 05 Mustang.

I contact the main sales manager and tell him what I want and to get my car ready... LOL..... By the time I get there, my coffee is ready, the football game is on the big screen (I nearly always buy my cars in November or December) and they have most my paperwork filled out.....

Oh...My CEO's company administers 4 of the Future Ford family dealerships' Pension Plans..We have a good standing business relationship.

However, if I was just treated the way you were, yes, I would be looking somewhere else. Contact a sales manager; however, with supply on the GTs as low as it is, they may not be real hip on jumping to assist since they are banking to make a sale, and especially if this was in the last few days.

Try again the second week of May. The sales associates will be looking for raw meat and you probably won't be able to get them off your leg....

You can also look for a Blue Oval Certified Dealer on Ford's website, they have a little higher standards.

Same here, If I am "Only Looking" I will ignore them even when they come up to me and introduce themselves. If I do have a Question then I will talk to them. They seem to accept this because from what I have seen they will or cannot leave... and personally I do not want them there... so that is what I do when they come up to me..I do feel bad for treating another "person" that way, But that is the game we sometimes might have to play. If I act with Kindness they see this as a weakness and I will see no end to the "Deals " I could have had....Society sucks sometimes.

After the experience with dealers I have had. I NEVER feel bad. I have dealt with too many insulting me. Or treating me like I didn't know what I was talking about.

WOW.....which dealer is this? Name? City?

If they've got 6 GTs, there's a bunch of people that would make a "bee line" to their door to buy them.

Chevy dealers will "beg" you to come buy their cars.....at a big discount, too. Unfortunately, they don't have anything that remotely compares to the Mustang.

I don't like to be mobbed by salesmen, but if nobody even bothers to say hello to me that kind of bothers me too. I left a dealership once because I walked around the lot looking at trucks for a half hour without a single person even coming outside.

If I am really only looking at the time, then I will tell the salesman that. If he leaves me alone after that, then I will go back to him when I'm ready. But I've had salespeople that I tell them "I'm just looking around" and they still follow and hound me. That's when I leave.

Come to Long Island New York. Every dealer I have seen has a ton of GT's.

Hey guys, sorry for the late reply.

The two dealers are in the Sudbury, Ontario, Canada area.

The thing is, I don't like to be hassled by people either when I am checking out a car, but I would at least like them to acknowledge that I exist.

I am there for 15-20 minutes looking at the 8 mustangs they have on the lot and no one even comes over to say if I have any questions to come talk to them.

I understand how people don't want to be harrassed, but this IS a power struggle, they don't even act like you are there.

Three guys walked right by me and didn't even glance in my direction and I was literally sitting in the driver's seat for a good 10 minutes checking out the interior and feel.

And this is true, there are SIX GTs per lot just sitting there and yes, most of them have been there for over 2 months.

You would think they would be jumping at a chance to get rid of them seeing they are NOT selling well in this area.

I am just EXTREMELY frustrated. I am not about to go kiss some salesman's arse to pull his fat butt out of his chair to ask for a test drive.

I want one, I can afford to pay for one cash, but if they think I am going to go hunt for them to talk to me, not a chance.

Sorry for the rant, it is just too bad they are so damn lazy........

No I know a couple of people that are looking for Mustang GTs. I was trying to get the info where some GTs are at. If you go online you can search the dealers inventory by zip code. I live in California and the lots either have LX or the convertible models. I emailed the intrested parties the location of where the GTs are located. They do not want to use ebay.
