Whats wrong?

Alright guys, it seems that after i fix something something else breaks I was driving about 25mph when it popped out of gear and then i put it back in gear and it popped out again. After that i could not put it in any gear unless the car was shutoff. I tried adjusting my clutch the tighest it could be ( firewall adjuster screwed all the way out) and that didn't help anything. The trans is fine i believe because it shifts into gear fine with the car off and i pretty much was going to do my clutch in 2 more weeks. Thank god i was close to home and i had 3 friends to help push. So is this the clutch?

sounds like syncros to me. When the clutch goes usually you can't put power to the wheels. Car just revs without going anywhere. syncros aren't holding it in gear anymore. Try running it in a different gear and see if it pops out (like try starting in 2nd gear instead of using 1st). then try third and fourth. assuming it was 1st gear it popped out of in the first place. good luck

Usually popping out of gear is a sign of syncro's.

well the trans has always been working fine and it will pop out of any gear. but now i cant get it into any gear like the cable is loose or something. When the cars off you can get it into any gear.

i tried something else out. when i start the car the clutch is squealing really bad and when i push the clutch in its fine. I can start the car in gear (cluthc in and left off) but then i cant shift to anything unless its off.

squealing with the clutch pedal up in neutral is definitely a throwout bearing, in addition to whatever makes it pop out of gear.

in my experience a clutch won't make it pop out of gear. It may make it difficult to put in to gear if the clutch isn't disengaging it will grind when putting it into gear. I am sorry to say, without seeing it first hand I can't offer much help. If you think it is the clutch cable then take a look at the entire cable and see if it might have gotta burned up next to the exhaust or something. But a clutch won't just kick it out of gear.
