I think for most (myself included), it's about the independence having a truck brings. Throw in that my Mustang, with no interior, steep gears, loud exhaust, and headers is a miserable drive to and from the strip, and a truck becomes necessity.Apparently a lot of guy also own trucks

You're shopping in the wrong market. $28k for mine NEW after rebates.I wanted an F150...I just didn't want to pay $30k+ or so for a 1-2 year old one.
I also don't like driving trucks. Something about a car I just like better. I'd prob roll a truck over.
It is a huge PITA though. Not having one. I'm in the midst of house projects and always need to borrow a truck.
It never ends. Latest house project. New doors. Prob the 6th one I've installed since buying house. All that mod money
