Hey guys, I am still searching for the perfect set of wheels and tires. I have found some chrome bullets. Here are the sizes...They are all 18x9's (+26mm, 6.11 backspace) and the tires they are mounted on are 285/30/18's So I guess my question is, Are 285's too wide for the front of my car?? Will it scrape? How will it look?? Thanks guys...

I think Steeda puts 285 width tires on the front of their cars. 285/30-18 is a really short tire at 24.73 overall diameter. It probably wouldn't be a problem, but I dunno.

There's still stuff in the 255-275 range that would work well.

EDIT-I just checked, and Steeda puts 285/35-18 all around on some of their cars. So, unless there is a big difference going from the 94-98 body style to the 99-up, the 285/30 shouldn't be an issue.

Despite what Steeda does the 275/35/18 I have on the front of mine makes it handle like ass. I'm sure I'm not the only one either.

What else, if anything, is done to your suspension? I run 275/40-17 up front and I have no negative side effects from it. It even tracks less than it did with 245/45 up front.

No suspension mods but with only 45,000 miles on the clock I think everything is OK. My tires grab every crack in the road and handle worse than the stockers. This may have something to do with them being 18's with a 35-series sidewall.

Mine was pretty horrible with aggressively treaded tires on the stock suspension and continued to be horrible until I got everything tightened up a bit. The most important stuff, so far, in taking care of that stuff has been subframe connectors and the C/C plates. I was shocked at how much my stability on bad roads improved with those improvements.

I have 265/35/18 all the way around. I was going to go 255 and 275. But i decided to go with one size so i can rotate. I think 265/35 is plenty in the rear unless you have big power. Tire compound and quality is more important then the size. Unless you just want the fat look in the rear.

I have 275 on front and since I dont have CC plates they ride like chit, That and I think that the 275 is too wide and would like to get some 255 or at max 265 for the front. the 275 stick out ever so slightly and I just dont like it.
