wheel bearings

I am replacing the bearings on my car because I hear a little "squeeky" sound in the front (it might be my brakes thought). When I take the castlenut off, there is a bolt that needs to be removed. I don't have a wrench that large, the largest I have is 1 1/16, but that wont fit. Does anyone know the size?

you mean the nut? just use an adjustable if u dont have a wrench over 11/16 , it is only torqued to like 17 inch lbs if that,a lot of times you can get em off with your fingers.

big pair of pliers should do the trick. it isn't on there that tight as stated already.

And make sure you dont crank it down when you reinstall!!

I believe the correct size is 1 1/8.

you could also use a crescent wrench but i prefer a socket.

You might want to buy the socket if you want to set it to spec since you are supposed to torque it while you spin the wheel, back it off and torque it and set the pin.

Don't forget new cotter pins. Use lots of brake cleaner to clean the spindles of all old bearing grease. I recently did the brakes on my car, used 3 cans of cleaner and an fair amount of bearing grease.
