I've been trying to switch out my wheels for awhile because although i love the style - i've just grown out of the chrome flashy style that doesn't match anything else on my car or my aspirations for it. I bought them when i was 17 (maybe 16) in high school so that might explain it.
Here's it now:

What i really want is 18x9" Machined face black inset 03 cobra wheels that go well w/ my smoked headlights and black bumper inserts:

I'd plan on buying these then hopefully selling the ones i have now (which are pretty much flawless) for around $350-400. My biggest hesitation is how AFS' wheels cost 2x what they used to back when i bought mine. These are $645 + $95 shipping. The mounting and balancing of my old tires onto new rims i get for free

Should i just say screw that and buy brakes instead?

Car looks good now, but those cobra wheels would make it look better. I've been looking at them for awhile myself, just too many other things that need done. I say get them.

Oh god, please get those painted Cobra wheels. Those are the best wheels ever made available to mortal man. Your car would look absolutely incredible with them. I think the 03 Cobra wheels are the best choice of rim for any of the 94-98 body style Mustangs, followed by a certain set of BBK wheels that I saw a while ago. Get 'em!

Im not a fan of chrome either. I would go with a hypercoated wheel myself. It would accent the tinted head lights and all that good stuff too!
I am running a hypercoated FR500 wheel on my stang, I say its the best "non chrome finish for a wheel!

I'm with crzyhrse. I think it looks great with the current set of rims/tires. Grass is always greener....
