I want to get some smaller wheels and snow tires to get through the Nebraska winters (I love my Stang, but it's no snow beast).

Is there any reason that 15" OEM wheels from a 99 GT wouldn't fit a 2004 GT? Both have 5 bolt patterns (both 4 1/2" I think). Could I just replace my 17" OEM wheels with no other considerations? Sorry if this is a moronic question; I just don't want to fork over the cash for nothing.

Assuming I could use these wheels, what size snow tires would I get?

All SN95s have the same lug pattern (5x4.5) so all OEM wheels are pretty much interchangeable...on a side note i think the smaller wheel your talking about is a 16inch wheel

Thanks. I figured as much. The wheels are advertised as 15", but I wondered. I know the base wheel for the 2003-4 V6 is 16", but I wasn't sure about the '99s. Either way, with a thinner wheel and snow tires, I figure it will perform a little better in the snow.

I recommend getting Blizzak LM22 snow tires. I just put them on my wife's 350Z. It went from undriveable, to very confident in the snow.
