Hey guys and gals, It's a long story about why but I'm thinking about switching my two rear 17x9's with 17x10.5's. Is this a good idea, bad idea, idea that's not going to work?
Please let me know. Thanks!

why not?!?!? it u have the funds to afford the rims and tires ( keep in mind tires are going to be really expensive for the rear) go for it. With 10.5 you can fit 315's . now that sweat

I already have replica Chrome Cobra 17x9's, so I have to match it up... matching it up, that's what started this whole fiasco.

BTW, what are the numbers on a say... 305/?/17 or 295/?/17

that is exactly what I was going to do, but I have the silver 1999 Cobra wheels 17 X 9 all around. I can't find the same wheel wider or taller... Anyone else know? I would love to find my wheel in an 18".. That would save me money on 2 wheels, you know?

I don't know where you've already looked, but you could try AAA Rims or Discount Tire Co.

Good luck man!

I'd still like to hear from somebody who has already done the 17x9 front/18x10.5 rear or something similar.

97mboi, go with the 10.5

Dont want to hijack your thread but I don't want to start yet another tire thread either...

I'm about to purchase new tires and don't want 'em to end up looking too narrow. Anyone got pics of 295 on a 10.5 wheel ? I currently have 275 and they are WAY too narrow. Michelin is the ONLY manufacturer that offers a 315 in 18" (besides manuf. that offer drag radials) and they are way too expensive. So if anyone got pics of a 295 BFG, Kuhmo or Toyo on a 10.5 wheel, it would be really appreciated.

Thanks

I would get gears before you throw some heavy rubber and rims in the back. pre99 cobras lack some in the low end department already.. but if you aren't that concerned with it, go for it
