I am looking into buying new rims (once I have the money) and would like something around the size of 18" x 9". I currently have the stock GT wheels(16"). If I get 18" x 9" is there anything else I would need to consider? Will those wheels fit with no problems or are there extra parts or considerations I would need to make? Thanks for the responses. I have appreciated the direct and helpful responses people have given since I've joined.

Those fr500's look killer.........

If you get the 18's you'll have no fitiment issues but if you get 9"er's all the way around you might want spacers in the back to push the wheel out further. Otherwise get 10's in the back.

Hi,
Just watch the front to back sizing. If you run a different siz tire front and rear, you could run into a anti lock brake problem http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=471747

18x9 is a good wheel size. Just remember that with a lower profile tire the ride quality will suffer a little more. The wheels will fit with no problems though if your mustang isn't lowered. With a lowered mustang you might run into rubbing issues, I'm not too sure.

Thanks everyone for the help so far....that last post addressed one more issue I forgot to ask. I am installing Eibach Pro Kit springs (lower 1 1/2"). Will that create a problem with that size wheel?

I went with 18x9 with 265/35's all around, but i bubbled out the sidewalls on 3 of the tires from potholes. So now i have 255/35 on the front and 295/30 on the back and have no problems. Oh and if you are to get 18 inch rims i would recommend getting a road hazard plan.
