Wheel Spacer Vibration

Hey guys,
I just put two Hubcentric 1" wheel spacers on the rear of my 98 GT today. It looks amazing, but at 65 mph and higer, I get a vibration like the wheels are out of balance. I did the specified torque on the lugs as the directions stated and they seat perfectly flush.
Any idea what is going on?

Brand/manufacturer and part number?

I've got 1" Eibach spacers on the back of mine and have no vibration at all...

They look similar to the Eibach's but appear to lack the TUV approval the Eibach's carry which makes me question their quality. Might be worthwhile pulling the wheels and spacers back off and carefully inspecting them for evidence of fretting/movement, distortion, studs coming loose etc. You might also take them to a machine shop and have them checked for trueness, flatness and runout.

That's good advise and what I was thinking. I might just get rid of them and go for the Eibach to be on the safe side. Thanks again!

Out of curiosity, are the washer things that they put on the studs still on there? I only ask cause I have a buddy that put some wheel spacers on his Dakota over those and it caused a bad vibration.

Interestingly enough, they didn't come with washers. That's interesting.

You did remove the rotor retaining tabs (I believe that's what Notch was referring to...)?

This is going to sound really stupid, but I don't remember seeing the tabs. I'm going to have to take the wheels off and inspect. If the tabs are there, I should remove correct? Thanks for all of your help btw.

The tabs may not be there if the rotors have ever been replaced on the car. Generally speaking they were installed on the assembly line to retain the rotors before the assembly of the brakes and installation of the road wheels.

If the tabs are there definitely remove them before installing the spacers...

Every set of eBay spacer I have ever bought vibrated and where sold quickly after. The best set up I've ever run are longer studs with hub centric spacers

Yeah I kind of figured that. He advertised them as Hub centric, but apparently they are not. Thanks.
