Hi

I would like to put wheel spacers/adapters in the rear on my 1997 GT. What brand should I go for and what size will fit without rubbing the tires? 25 mm?
The rims are stock 17x8 and the tires are 255/45/17.

Where do you think the rubbing will occur? the spacers don't exceed the size of the hub and arent really visable

general pic will give you an idea

As regards rubbing, my thought was that at some size of spacer the outside of the tire will hit the fender when the springs bottom out. I guess that happens somewhere between 25 and 40 mm spacer.

I've got a set of these in 1" had them on my '04 with the factory Bullitts, no rubbing anywhere, from the original studs or anything else... and definately helped the look...

They're in the classifieds now... I got some FR500's...

I have 1.25" with integral lugs. They pushed the 17X8 Cobra wheels right to the edge of the quarter panel on my '97, no rubbing with FRPP "B" springs. They're off the car now and for sale, only because I have to yank them every time I go to Discount Tire for a rotation/balance. Plus I'm going for a more "Sleeper" look and sound.
