One of my bud's cars. Runs 6.40's on motor and has run 5.90's on gas in the 1/8 one 1/4 mile pass on motor ran a 10.25. Blew a head gasket on this pass and almost lost it when it came down. If you look close you can see the fluid coming from the front of the car. Also pulled a 1.23 60' on this pass.

Nope the rules in super stock you must retain the carb it came with from the factory as well as heads.

I dont know a single thing about carbs but, im guessing that there is stuff you can do to the jets and so on.. right?

Are you allowed to retain the factory carb but modify it so it actually flows 600cfm or somthing?
or must it retain the stock cfm ratings as well? or maybe it isnt even possible to change the cfm flow at all:shrug: , like i said i dont know what im talkin about.

10.20's is pretty damn impressive for a 289 with a 450 and stock heads(even ported) super stock would mean that its a N/A car correct?

Not sure, my guess was the car dead hooked then bogged, so maybe 4500.

On that day it had a bad fuel pump and only went 13.1 @ 103, but that same cobo is whats in the sig going 12.5s, but the launches look much weaker than that! I shift it at 5600-5800 and launch it at 5000 for the best 60's!
I have always been impressed with your 12.5 considering your modest mod list. when I ran my 14.1 it was almost 100* outside and muggy as heeeeelll, so im pretty confident it would have been in the 13's on a cooler day, and im not sure what the elevation is at LV Dragway.
hey your from CT..you ever bring your car to the Berlin TRNPK?

ONE MORE WHEELIE RELATED QUESTION:
lets say a car has 4.10's and a bunch of mods. how does the tire height effect its chances of rippin a wheelie?
(assuming its got enough balls in the first place)
would it be more likely to do it with a SHORTER tire or TALLER tire?

You are allowed to change jets, but the carb doesnt flow near 600 cfm althought it is worked. Yes nhra doesnt allow any type of power adders in super stock, well except for the "experimental" class
