This is an issue I don't know much on. I need help with wheels and tires. I am going with 15 inch weld wheels but I don't know what tires would fit on what wheels. I want to put at least 265's or 275's on the rear. the wheels I am looking at now are 15X3.5 with a 1.75 inch backspacing on the front and 15X8 on the rear. this is just my thought. I could change. Will these sizes even fit? and what backspacing would I want? the car is not lowered.

Alot of people run 15x8s with 5.5 inces of backspacing and 275 50-15s. Then a 165r15 front tire on the 3.5s. I think thats the most common on a fox body.

I have 15x8.5 - 5.0 bs Centerlines with 275/50/15 BFG D.R. on a 88 hatch stock height. No quads, Lakewood upper and lower C.A.'s. No pounding or fender
rolling and it does not rub. I installed Airbags with 5 pounds of air but I don't think I even needed them. 15x7- 5.0 bs with 215/60/15 BFG in front.

How are you going to drive the car, street or track? if street I would stay away from 3.5inch front wheels, there is no need to run a wheel and tire that narrow, I run a 6inch rodlite with a 195-65 and it's as narrow as I will ever go.

To the contrary...they do. You have to flip the quads.
Just installed a set of Nittos 275/40/17 and have zero issues.
