I'm in Philadelphia working for 2 weeks next month and would appreciate any help on where to buy tires and wheels to ship back home to Europe. I'm looking for something in the order of 6pcs FR500 (look-a-likes), performance street tires and some M/T Drag Radials. I'll be going on a pallet and will then be picked up by the shipping co. It's impractical to do "mailorder" to the hotel for a whole pallet... so a reputable tire/speed shop needed!

Also: where to go and what to see? Mustang & Fords, drag, road courses, events?

Any info appreciated!

Check out this thread for Ray's cruise on the 21st in Northeast Philly. It sounds like he put together a good one this year.

As far as wheels and tires, check the yellow pages for a Discount tire. They usually have some pretty good deals.

As far as Drag Races, closest place would be Atco Raceway in Atco, New Jersey.

Have fun in Philly. It is a great town.

Thanks! Looks like a great cruise, but I wont be in until the 29th. Leaving on 5/11.
I also discovered that http://www.americanmuscle.com/fr500wheels1.html is just east of Philly.

While you are in Malvern checking out American Muscle, you could stop in at drag legend Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins shop, it is one block from the only traffic light in Malvern. You might also want to contact Barry at ASC inc. (American Sports Car) located 2 miles from the Downingtown exit of the turnpike, he exports vintage cars, trucks and parts to Europe and Asia all the time. There is usually a half full container or two sitting in his back lot. also,Mid-County Mustang is a mile up the road.
As far as drags, you are close to three. Atco in NJ, Maple Grove about 15 miles off the Morgantown exit of the turnpike, (the next exit past Downingtown) and Cecil County in MD. There are too many cruises and car shows to list here, go to http://www.autoresourcetoolkit.com/ for all the local events.
It is too bad you are not here this week for Carlisle, and next week is Englishtown... bummer!

Seeing that you are in PA for the next two weeks, you should consider taking a ride out to Carlisle this weekend for the Big Spring Carlisle Swap meet. check out info at www.carsatcarlisle.com.

I am heading out there on Friday. There will be all kinds of vendors there plus hundreds of individuals selling parts. You will probably find some of what you are looking for.

As far as Drag racing goes Maple Grove Speedway in Reading, PA and Englishtown Dragway in Englishtown NJ are very close by, you would have to look them up online to see if they have any events this weekend.
