I was just wanting to know at what lift the AFR 185's assembled heads bind? I was also wanting to know what a good setup is for a 306 s-trim motor? I was thinking about going with twisted wedge heads and maybe changing the springs so I can get a ton of lift out of them. Thanks

each of these companies sell upgraded spring kits. they are pretty much a must on the AFRs

the trick flow stage 2 springs kick ass though and the complete spring lock retainer kit isnt too expensive.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass when I say this: How much is "a ton" of lift? No flame intended. I'm asking because the stock 185 springs may be good, depending on how much lift you want to run. I believe they are good to .550 lift. If you are using a cam that is under .540 lift and it doesn't exceed the required minimum seat pressure, there is no sense in fixing what isn't broken.
