I know you cant just get a new shortblock and expect all this power. I have 42lb injectors, wouldnt I need to uprade to 60lbs and cobra pumps/tank? Also when people get shortblocks, dont they get cams in it also? I wont pass emissions if I get cams. Do people upgrade whole fuel system like lines? What about rear end? I think this is going to be more money than just buying a shortblock and swapping it in. What about transmission? Is a t-45 strong enough? So what does everyone have and what did they do for the upgrade? Im really considering this after my vortech bypass valve and clutch is installed. How much am I really looking at, they said its about 3 days - $1600 for labor for shortblock swap. The people that do my work, they also said you really should get the block rebuilt locally so you can knock on there door if problems. They have seen it alot buying a block over the net and something goes wrong when its in or something. Its kind of true, but I dont even know what Im getting locally. I want all the good stuff I see listed like manley rods and pistons and cobra crank. They didnt really get into specifics when I asked. I know mph has a good rep, but its kind of true, getting a block shipped and then i dont know how I am going to transport it to the shop. Just give me some insight on what you guys did if you didnt go to local shop to buy block from them.
