The Last 5.0L motors were used in the explorers / mountianeers. So you don't have the last 5.0L ever used, but you have one of the last 5.0L powered Mustangs.

1996 was the first year for the 4.6L modular motors.

Man- that sounds like a hard one... you'd need a vin. Find out how many were made that year and there's the last of your VIN

Easy there incomplete sentence with no info . Actually the 5.0 is still available in industrial compressors so no one has the last 5.0 engine powered piece of equipment, they also made f-150'S and E-150s in 96 w/ 5.0's in them. Idid not come on here to deal with sarcastic posts. This is :SNSign: not ExplorerNet or MountaineerNet or F-150Net. I was obviously talking about Mustangs as this sight is dedicated to otherwise i would be :OT: Most every car produced the last of its model is sought after, look at the last SVO built that Bill Elliotts brother owns or the last model-T that there were a million made of is in Greenfield Village. I could go on and on with significant last built vehicles that have been scoopeded up and saved and are worth a &%$!# load, but the people who have a collectors background or collectors point of view know what I mean already. The info I was curious about was not stupid or unobtainable, someone has it some where and most likely some CEO has this car in a garage tucked away . However I will continue to look for the info until I find it the same way I found my Boss and Shelby cars for less then most people can buy a roller fox body. I may not have the last one made but I will either find a later one or the last one to clarify this. Although if mine was the last one I will be laughing all the way to the bank in about 30 years. I do appreciate the serious people who actually where interested and posted encouraging and helpful info. thanx FRED

"The last 5.0 L engine was produced at Cleveland Engine Plant #1 in December 2000, as part of a build ahead to supply Ford of Australia. They installed their last 5.0 L engine in a new vehicle in August 2002"

found that on the internet

The mountaineer/explorer engines were not new when used in their respective vehicles. They are ford rebuilds or left over stock.

Foxfan the thread is about 302 windsors, not 302 clevelands which were used in verious vehicles in austrailia. 302/351 cleveland. Just like how we have the 302/351 windsor.

I know you said it is in Fords possesion, is this a fact you know or an assumption, I would assume they would have it but cars show up in the damdest places. I know Jack Roush buys up alot of the odd fords and stores them at his Lavonia, museum. I know he has the (3) 79 pace cars and THE 93 cobra prototype

The remaining pacecar still clad with its 79 pacecar appearance package is at Indy. Or so I've read from quite a few differen't sources.

you are correct yes and no

One is in the Indy hall of fame and the other two were redone in complete white for the detroit grand prix in 1982 and were updated to the 82 standards these cars had taller spoilers, flattened tailpipes(rather then chrome) all three had t-tops and 71 windsor heads and these are in Roushes museum in Lavonia, so my bad i forgot they put one in Indy and i knew when i originally posted it That i thought one might be somewhere else and rightfully so thanx fred

Found some confusing numbers here, but I'm sure everyone else has looked and there isn't much. One source says 165,037 Mustang produced for 1995, another says 190,994. I know there weren't 30g Cobra's produced that year, so that is not the discrepency. Another source says 70,126 GTs produced for that year.

Maybe someone else can help, but since the V6, V8 and Cobras have different engine codes in the VIN, are their unit numbers engine specific? For example, in a V6 VIN, do the last 5 numbers represent only V6 cars, or all Mustangs in the VIN year produced?

If the unit number is engine code specific then the 70,126 GTs number may help you out. Good luck!

A few years ago Mustang Monthly did run an article on the last 93 Fox 5.0 Mustang. The guy knew what he had and basically never drives it. Its a trailer queen.
