Hey guys, I was just wondering where yall mounted your fire extinguishers, and how yall mounted them. Mine didn't come with any mounting hardware so Im not sure. I was thinking Either the passenger A piller, or on the right side of the tranny in the passenger boot. I would be worried about the fire extinguisher comming lose in an accient from the A piller so Im not sure about that. Any pics or ideas woul be appreciated, thanks!

well I think putting one on the A piller is a little ricey like you are trying to show it off, if your car isnt a all out drag car. In the passenger feet area would really cramp your passenger.

maybe the back on the floor where the driveshaft is. I dont have anyone ride in my back seat so that is a perfect spot for mine.

How did you mount yours? I just figured mounting on the side of the hump for the transmission. Ive seen there a few times but wanted some opinions.

lol I dont have one but I have thought of where to install it.

As for why to have one, why not. Ive come accross 3 different car fires but was unable to help because I didn't have anything to help put out the fire. I had the money and figure it was a wise investment. Plus the chrome finish has to be worth at least a few FWHP and I need that. :p

back in the days my dad and I were able to help a guy when his car caught on fire on the side of the road....we always have a fire extinguisher in the trunk of our cars...you might not use it for years but one day it will be useful...worth the $15 in my opinion...be sure to check it every year...

Exactly :nice:

The floorboard behind the drivers seat, its not like anyone could ever sit there with the drivers seat all the way back, and its not like I could drive with it much farther forward. Easy to reach, out of site, and does not get in the way.

Wherever you do mount it, make sure it's out of the way and secure. The last thing you want is the extinguisher to discharge while you're driving. Doesn't taste good either...... :notnice:

i agree with that, unless you wanna be smelling and tasting chalk for a good week, get than thing mounted , and atleast pointed away from you

Mount it in the trunk. I think you can get brackets to mount them in your house - I can't see why you couldn't find a away to use one of those.

I'd agree with that. I can't imagine a situation when you'd need the extinguisher and NOT have time to open the trunk and get it. I mean I assume this isn't a track-only drag car, right?

I may do likewise, just for piece-of-mind... :nice:
