where can I buy...

Gibbo..... any interest in a 7.5 with 3.45 gears? Brand new fron Ford. Never bolted in.

Yes the 8.8 is stronger, but thats not an issue unless you are doing 6 grand clutch dumps on slicks.

For a street driven auto, your better off with the lighter 7.5 anyway in my opionion.

what are the weights of the 7.5 and the 8.8?

About a 70 pound differance.

I just think that the 8.8 is not needed for most applications, but is swapped because its "cool".

If it makes money sense, then ya go for it. Such as swapping in a disc rear from a Turbo Coupe. But if you are happy with your gears and you already have a "posi" then there is no point in swapping. You will not go any faster , and the extra weight can only slow you down.

Dont quote me on this cause I cant findf the original post to verify, but I looked this up before and after awhile I found the specs and posted them. But now Im going off memory.

7.5" rear was 145lbs

8.8" rear was 210lbs.

9" rear was 240lbs.
