Where can I get replacement buttons for mach 460 radio buttons on 98 Gt?

I checked 50resto and I don't see any replacement buttons.

I am looking at getting a 98 Gt for a pretty decent deal and the buttons are worn out (the power and volume buttons), looks trashy...

Any places to get them?

I'm just picky:)

i doubt anyone has the buttons for the head unit. would be more of a pain in the ass then anything id think to replace them.

460 head unit is probably about the same cost as those buttons you want. since i bet it would be special ordered parts.

Alright, I will...

I haven't got the car yet though:) Just looking at it...

Stangparts wants the tape player head unit for $100 bucks, I'm not going to pay that...

I want the stock players in it though:)

To be quite honest, I kinda want to put my stocker back in. There are two reasons I haven't. 1.) With the volume all the way up on the stocker, it's like half volume on my aftermarket and 2.) I too need some buttons. I need the "track skip/seek/whatever" button.

I think the stock tape deck/cd player looks good. :)

Bumping this thread, for anyone interested in selling me a stock radio head unit (not the cd player).

I would like it to be in good shape, and no 'finger fade' on the buttons.

If you know where I can get the buttons, let me know.

Thanks guys and gals...

I'll throw this out there too ... I had an aftermarket deck and long story short, I lost a few buttons off my stocker. I wanted to put it back in so I got all the buttons I needed from a junkyard. FWIW...

Since this is an old thread and really no longer on topic.

I got a double din unit out of an 04 GT for free though my 98 of course uses the single din units. I assume that I just need to purchase the radio bezel (with the ac vents and such) to get it to work? I haven't taken anything apart yet to check for this. Anyone know for sure?

My current stock unit works when it wants to and looks like crap to top it off.

There is a little more to it than that. You'll also need to relocate the fog light and defrost button to under the radio and get a traction control delete button.

I think the mount behind the bezel is different as well.

I have heard of guys doing it, but not sure how.

I for one can't stand the look of aftermarket decks. Yes i know they are better, but to me it doesn't look right. I like stuff to be OEM. Nothing turns me off to look inside a nice car and see an aftermarket deck. Some of the 1.5 and doube din decks do look ok...specifically the flatscreen ones that look like factory NAV, but the pop out ones look cheap to me...even if they cost $1500+

That's why a great sounding OEM system is a huge selling point with a vehicle for me.

I agree about the radio face sticking out--I'll stick with my "lousy" mach460 over that.

I guess I need to do some research about this double din swap. I am nearly positive I have heard of it being done--but I could always be wrong :D Since I received it for free, I won't mind spending a little money for it to work.
