I am working on putting in a 89 5.0 into a jeep cj7, and foudn out tonight, after many hours of wondering and freaking out, that i dont even have a fuel pump relay. I have both engine harnesses out of the 89. I thought the fuel pump relay was up by the mass air meter, it turned out to be the WOT relay. So where the heck is the fuel pump relay and how do I hook it up. I am running a manuel trans with a Auto computer if that makes a different. I did fire it up tonight for the first time though, i ended up just hotwireing the pump for now. Everythign else whent pretty well till i gave up on the relay thing. Thanks

No wondure i was so freaking confused. Thanks guys. ill have to get that all wired up. Anybody have any sugestions on how to make my fuel pump quieter. I have the msd high pres efi conversion fuel pump. I have it mounted just in front of the rear axle, and just under the feet of the passengers. I couldnt believe how loud it was inside the jeep.

To reiterate, it is under the driver's seat (in case there was confusion).

For the pump, I've had some loud ones (mech to electric pump conversions and such) and often simply using some rubber-isolotors (read grommets) under the pump-to-chassis fasteners helped a bit.

Otherwise, creating a node/anti-node chamber can be expensive and frustrating. :rlaugh:

Good luck.
