Where is the Fuel Pump Ground Wire?

Anyone know where the ground wire connection is on a 1988 Mustang 5.0L? My father is driving my old 1988 GT 5.0L and is 4.5 hours away from where I live. He can't get the car started becuase the fuel pump won't cut in. He has already checked the fuel pump reset switch in the back (it's fine - not triggered). He figures the issue is a loose ground wire on the fuel pump. Any ideas?

If he probed the FP relay and had 12 volt output, then the pump wiring is left. Otherwise it might be a relay control, fusible link, etc issue, and not the wiring at the pump.

I dont know where the ground wire for the pump itself ties in -sorry.

There are two wires coing out of the top of the fuel pump mount. One is pink & it is power to the pump. The other wire is black & is the ground. They go to a plastic connector that is part of the chassis wiring. The ground is fastened to the chassis by a sheetmetal or machine screw near the spare tire well on the underside of the car.
