where should I buy the vt stage 1 cams from?

Can those of you who already got or are going to buy the vt stage 1 cams recommend a good cheap place to buy them online? Also, how much did you have to pay in labor to have them installed?

as for the the labor cost, that's way to subjective to even have a average price, it's one extreme or another

Yeah, that's actually the place I have bookmarked for potentially buying them at - they are listed as the "VT Custom Billet cams" right?

I was thinking of installing them myself, but since I am better at building websites/cd-rom's than engines it may be a bad idea.

if you get the anderson cam tool, it's not supposed to be that hard. i'm getting ready to order those cams & i'm gunna order the cam tool as well & try it that way. if the cam timing isn't right i'll just jerk the front cover off & go about it the old fashion way

it was my idea first, you stole it i just decided i'd do the cams before the nitrous a couple days ago i'm worse than a women, when it come down to deciding what mod i'm gunna do next

nope that's the price for two cams

I used the AFM cam tool and I would rate changing the cams at about a 5 on a scale of 10 and after doing one set, you could probably pull the covers and swap them back out in a couple hours. Valve springs however, are more like an 8 or 9 and you will say words that you've never said before

You might want to do some checking around before getting the stage 1s. I have heard about good (better) results with the stage 2s.

Well shouldnt the stage 2's produce more power hence the title STAGE 2? The only thing about getting the stage 2's vs. the stage 1's is youll have to put new valve springs in also. Thats not something Im about to do. Also if this is your daily driver then you might not want a very aggressive cam, I think the stage 1’s are a good choice. They also go well with nitrous.

Like I said above, the springs were the killer part of my install. If you are looking to go with nitrous later on and you don't want to change springs, then the Stage I cams would be the way to go. They should react to nitrous really well while making good power N/A. Mustang92 gained something like 22hp with the Stage Is.

i just installed my stage 1 vt cams.. and they are awesome and for an n/a gt revving in the stock powerband they are just as good as the stage 2's in my opinion or maybe even better in the fact that they dont hurt your low end as bad as the stage 2's..i got mine from the same place as yall, and there service is awesome. and the cams are easy to install

Definetly get them from T&J. Also the install is easy. I had to put Comps in mine because VT does not have them for the NPI heads. Anyway get the stage 1. You do not have to put springs, but you can. It is up to you. Install for mine was roughtly 2 hours. A buddy of mine who had cams in his helped me out. Use the Anderson Tool!
