Where to buy '03 Cobra fuel tank and pumps?

I will soon be putting a Paxton Novi 2000 SC on my '04 GT. I have researched all the available options and decided, although the most expensive, that this route is the safest. So, anybody know the cheapest place?

you really dont need it. your bottom end will go before your fuel will. you can use a focus pump or a ford GT pupm in your stock basket. i drilled two 1/2" holes in the bottom of mine to help keep it full. mine hasnt had ANY problems.

Agree, you would be spending way more money than necessary.

Randy Stinchcomb is the person to talk to about the OEM parts you need regardless of which ones you decide to go with though.

just get the novi mongoose kit and you wont have to buy ANYTHING else. mine was $4350 including shipping. and let me be the first to tell you, the install instructions from paxton SUCK!!!!!!! i hope you are good at putting puzzles together!

I already have the NOVI tuner kit. I bought 42lb inj and Lightning MAF. I just need to get the fuel situation squared away. From everything that I've read, the Cobra baffles in the tank and twin pump allow me to go WOT no matter what amount of gas is in the tank. I just don't want to always have to be aware of how much fuel I have before I put the hammer down. It just seems like the safer bet. I know the GT or Aviator pump will work with the holes drilled, but I'm worried about the pump starving when the fuel level is low under hard acceleration.

Well it sounds like you want the best so that would be a whole new Cobra style setup.

Like I said there is a Ford parts guy named Randy Stinchcomb here and on Modular Depot forums that sells to everyone here at extremely reasonable prices. He sells direct from his parts counter at some Ford dealership somewhere. He is also a Mustang enthusiast and can advise you about Mustang parts. You should PM him for some prices...

Yeah, I took down his number. I plan on calling him tomorrow. I plan on getting the tank, but wonder if it would better to get the GT pumps rather than the Cobra pumps...price wise. Randy, if your reading this, PM me.

must be nice to blow $1000 on a fuel system just b/c you dont wanna bother to make sure your gas is above 1/4 tank!

Don't judge me Monkey...

All I'm saying is why risk it? I spent a lot for the mods, let alone the car. What if I'm running low on gas and turning out in traffic and somebody changes lanes right after I commit to going? I'm not going to granny out into traffic, I'm going to get on it to get out of the way. What if something like that happens? Life is full of unexpected crazy **** like that. And now I run the risk of a blown engine because I decided the cheaper route was the best route. It's easy to say, "Stay out of boost under a 1/4 of a tank"...well, sometimes life doesn't go as planned.

Plus, I sold my 5.0 for $7,000...so I get to turn that money right around and spend it on my 4.6.

If your not in a big hurry and shop around you can find the pumps and tank used for under $500.I picked mine up local for $425.

if you have tons of cash to spend, then technically it would be the safest, but not the most cost effective. i was just letting you know that i havent had any problems with my setup.

New question....With having two pumps rather than one, will there be any extra wiring? How will the second pump get power?

No. But the old plug-in for the old sending unit needs to be spliced on the new Cobra sender. Very easy and self explanatory once you see the new cobra unit.
