I thought that once you hooked up a tuner to a car it programmed itself to that VIN and couldnt be used on another vehicle. So whats the point of buying a used tuner on ebay?
Most tuners you can "restore" the vehicle's original tune configuration and it "un-marries" itself from the vehicle so it can be used again on a different vehicle. Make sure before you buy any of these tuners that the owner has done this, or it WILL be useless to you like you said.
Right on thx for the in put. So if I get the chip then get the car on the Dyno, the shop will program the tune. Also anyone who reads this thread have any good places to get a tune around the Hampton Roads area?
personally i wouldnt want a used tuner (sct xcal2) almost any place you order it from asks for a list of mods first and they customize the tune to your car. if the person your buying it from dosent have the same mods its not going to work to its full potential. i bought my xcal2 from www.lasotaracing.com ,dons a great guy to deal with. also comes with the USB cable to datalog
