for a nicer scanner see http://www.midwayautosupply.com/detailedproductdescription.asp?3829 – It has a 3 digit LCD display so that you don’t have to count flashes or beeps.. Cost is $35. Advance Discount Auto Parts, Sears ,Walmart and some other stores are starting to carry this model. Do a Google search & you will be suprized who is selling it now.

Wow, I really like the AutoXRay. I looked at that once some time ago. Which model did you get? When I clicked the link it took me directly to the 6000. Thats $700!!!
Im all for getting what you pay for and all, but im having trouble seeing the differences from the 4000 to 6000 models. Even the 4000 has CAN capability for over 300 less!
Just curious which you got and if you think it would have been worth it for a higher up model
By the way, vriStang, I love your sig.

Foxes cant stream with the AX (that I know of at least) so some of the benefits of the higher-end AX are lost (JRichker turned me onto the product line some years back).

It will show live engine parameters on a 94-95, which is kinda neat.

And yeah, they still do have an EEC-IV only version.

I'm pretty sure it was the 5000 I purchased.

Dang that's pricey though.
I have no idea how I was able to afford that.

It is definately overkill for what we need to be doing, and I doubt I will ever fully utilize all of its capabilities.

I do have one of the EEC-IV specific models as well, and it does every bit as well as the 5000.
I thought the older (EEC-IV specific model) was busted, so I bought the 5000. Turns out the batteries I had were all dead from sitting for so long. 5yrs in the garage is enough to kill batteries, who'd a thunk it.
I think the EEC-IV model was like 100 bills at the local parts store.

Well that is the limit of my knowledge on the subject,
jason

I have the AutoXray 6000. Great scanner! But, it's a huge overkill for just a Fox. I paid ~$600 for mine. Now, on ebay, they go for between $300 -> $400. :-|

Some of my scanners:
