Well i have my S281 spoiler and i have it painted also. Been sitting in my basement for awhile now. just wondering where i can buy the strong two sided tape for it and also a part number of some sort would be cool.

I have the saleen urathene one just wondering what did u guys use to block the Extra hole on each side??

Thanks guys

Well the piece of crap new S281 spoiler only comes with 2 bolt holes instead of 4, and they are flimsy ass Uerathane instead of Fiberglass now. So you need some Double sided tape to keeep them from flapping in the wind with the weak two bolt set up. I took mine back and got an S-351 because i didnt want to deal with that.

You would be surprised how many cob jobs people come up with. Heres the deal, you use the original holes that they gave you. You then have to drill through the trunk lid and mark on the bottom side of the spoiler where those holes line up at. REMEMBER drill the trunk first. After you mark the holes with a pen or something you can use sheet metal screws or whatever type of bolts came with the thing to begin with. You wont hurt a thing if it is urethane and it is really easy to start screws into without even having to drill the spoiler. Just dont go to big of a hole on the trunk lid and if it were me I would just run the screw up through the spoiler without even drill. Why? because you dont want to go over on the hole size and not get the screw to tighten up. It will not hold as well. The double sided tape is going to get wet, bake, freeze, and believe me it wont last.

Look at my sig guys, I did all that work myself u think im going to put a S281 spoiler on my trunk with two sided tape ONLY???
So Can anyone answer my question????

no offense bro, but it seemed like that was your objective.

ps- i can do ALL those things and im 17. The glory of vocational automechanics in school...the only class that deserves the upmost respect

You can get the tape at NAPA. (Or just about any other auto parts store.) Use ONLY 3M "Trim/Moulding Mounting Tape". It is the best! I have used it to hold a bunch of stuff on. I would use some screws, too, though. It would actually hold a spoiler on, by itself. It seems to stick better the longer it's on. It is a gray color and comes in various widths. Good luck!

As reddy351 said, use the 3M tape...I got mine at Napa too. All you need is the 2 holes that the spoiler has inserts for. Use Alcohol to clean the the area on the trunk the tape is gonna seal against...you want all the wax off it for the tape to bite and hold...
Mines been on for 3 years with 2 bolts and that tape and hasn't moved a lick...Try removing your GT fender emblems and youll see how good this stuff holds...:bang: ...Its super strong.

I covered the 2 un-used holes with pcs of the 3M tape...no leaks to date..

You can just see the tape in this pic...run it along that edge of the "spoiler"..Make sure its warm so you get a good fit...Its a one-shot deal...the tape sticks like a mofo when it contacts...take your time...:D

Might as well use epoxy instead of tape. 3-M makes an automotive body panel epoxy called 8115. We use it a lot on the Iowa State solar car and I swear the stuff is practically a gift from the gods.

i wouldnt use epoxy if he ever wants to remove the wing w/out damaging the trunk
