No...Not trumpets. Just 2.5" tailpipes that exit through a GT rear valance. Only place i can find that sells them is mustangsplus...and it takes a week to get here and about $50 in shipping!
I had mine custom made at Midas... it was cheap and they fit perfectly, although I didn't go with the GT valance. If I were you, I'd get the car running and drive it to a muffler shop. Don't worry, not even the cops down your way will write a ticket to somebody on their way to a muffler shop! Exhaust is the perfect "last item" on the to-do list. All the catalog exhaust stuff is too expensive and shipping doesn't help..
You keep telling me to go to this shop and that shop....I AM building the car...not a shop. I will only take it somewhere when I NEED to. I can run tailpipes and mufflers if I find ones that fit. And right NOW is the perfect time to do it while the rearend is out.
Just what I learned...these cars are so far from standard that finding an exhaust setup that will fit yours right is like finding the right key in a bucket full of them. I ordered in my flowmaster 40s, flowmaster over the axle 2.5s, duel tips (in standard size), and then had and artist custom fit it. It ended up tucked up in there, 2.5 all the way back, and they hang no lower than my stock gt system. What I am getting at is that exhaust work is somewhat of an art from my veiwpoint. Yes I could have put this stuff together myself, but the end result would have been the equivalant of using a spraypaint can to paint the engine compartment. Dont be afraid to defer to experts when thats what it takes.

If you really want to do the work yourself, then buy the kit and do it. Its your time and money, just don't be surprised when things start banging against each other.. If I really believed the kit would fit perfectly, I would have pointed you that way, but I thought you might be wanting good advice. I've read enough of your posts that to know that you're going to have a larger rearend, larger than stock shocks, etc., and these things lessen the chances of problem free kit installation, especially if you're working from jackstands...as the fitment will change one the weight is on the wheels.
I understand the desire to do everything yourself... sometimes its cheaper with better results having the work done by others.
My exhaust from the headers back, to include the FM DF50's, chrome tips & hangers, and installation cost $265... everythig is welded, sounds good, and fits perfectly... And I have a warranty!
