Where to get factory 302 shortblock?

Seems like they were around $1300 from Mustangs Unlimited or Powered by Ford. Here is Mustang Unlimiteds Ad. Also I saw an add at MPS.com for a complete 94-95 stang engine for $1700.

you'd more than likely have to buy one used to get forged pistons, unless you had one built, which would cost considerably more. Did anyone see those adds for a Cobra 4.6 DOHC engine/trans with mufflers, sensors, wireing harness, and basically everything needed to do a complete swap into any other car that it'll fit into? They're going for like 6k for the whole package. I'm not sure if they're out of wrecked cars or what, but it's a pretty sweet deal.

Talk to Joe

Joe Amato that is. He works in the motorsports side of the house at Downs Ford in New Jersey. Check out their website at downsford.com. Then link down to motorsports, parts, engines and you can browse prices, etc. But, for the very best price, call Joe Amato himself and ask for a quote at their 1-800 number. I paid 3100 for a GT-40X crate motor (345 hp) and 2000 for a complete 225 hp HO longblock, both brand new, delivered freight. They even list a new 347 short block. All of the factory Ford new engines (post-92) are hypereutetic pistons, unless you work out something with Ford. E-mail me if you want more details (phone number, etc.). Good luck! BT

Thanks guys...I wish I could find one with forged pistons because I would like to run boost eventually (it would be better for my piece of mind) :D

Well I kinda was looking at rebuilding my stock block with the forged rebuild kit from Summit but then just would like the piece of mind of a new block and everything...

Any one heard or use the DSS 306...?

Thanks guys again...

My mechanic gave me a price of $1300 for a standard shortblock and about $17-1800 for one with forged pistons. I did not ask any details about where he gets his engines from, but I had to assume that 302's with forged pistons are available, since it was offered.
