hey guys i was interested in getting either 4.10 or a 4.30 gear and i was wondering if there was any sites that has these gears and install kit for a decent price and if you could post them and i was just wondering which gear would be best for a daily driver and part time strip runner thanks in advance

Contact Randy Stinchcomb. I got my 4.30 gears w/ a basic bearing and seal kit shipped for right at 230 bucks. Good price if you ask me. You can also try shopping around at places like www.stangstore.com or www.mustangtuning.com but I'de try Randy first. You can contact him under the Ford parts section of the www.modulardepot.com forums board.

BTW, I love my 4.30 gears and I'm sure you'll like yours as well.

EDIT: As for which gear is best for your application, it's going to depend. If you're going to upgrade to the PI cylinder heads in the future, then I'de definately get the 4.30's. If not, then I'de be careful about anything steeper than 4.10's.

Nope, not yet. I've been busy upgrading everything and I can't go to the track just yet as I need to get some wheels and sticky tires for the rear. Hopefully, I'll have some soon, as in no later than the next month. I'm planning on going to the Mustang vs. F-body shootout in September at Maryland Internation Raceway(MIR) and whip some F-body ass.

Sorry to hear you were lied to about the gears and thanks for the good luck cause yeah, I'm gonna need it. Especially since I'm going in the straight heads up n/a competition.

A mechanic at my local ford dealer said I could get used gears installed for 225 not including the speed cal. I think the gears are $50-60 and the rest is for the install. He said they come out of wrecked explorers and stuff. I plan on going 3.73 b/c I eventually want nitrous, if you go to the track a lot 4.10s are popular(if you have an auto definately go with 4.10's , 4.30's if you dont plan on getting a power adder) Ive seen new gears advertised for 140 just the gears.
