I know all the various places I can mount it, I just can't decide where I want to put it. I have the Crane Hi-6 CD box, http://store.summitracing.com/partd...t=CRN-6000-6440&N=4294925127+115&autoview=sku, that looks like this.

First of all, Im feeling pretty burnt out on working on my car so any easy installation would be best. Im thinking about putting it in the standard place on the firewall above the brake booster, but I'm not sure if it will look right there with pretty much everything else hidden in my engine bay.

The other place Im thinking about is in the glove box. The problem with that is I have to run wires, which I just havn't been able to get motivated to do.

What to do....

Also, if I mount it in the engine bay, will it hurt to run the power wire to the alternator power wire instead of the battery?

And here's a pic of my engine bay :D

that bay is so nice, you gotta stick it inside the car somewhere. i would go with either the glove box or the center console. or even under the passenger seat

I agree with putting it in the interior, esp since you dont want the clutter/braggin rights of having it under the hood (I think the latter is one main reason people put them under the hood).

Extending the harness shouldnt be too time consuming and I have to wonder............... I KNOW what it's like to burn out. Do you need this box installed right now? If not, be like me and add it to the list of chit to do when I feel motivated. :D

Going to the dyno Sunday, so I need to do it tonight or tomorrow. I've allready put it off for a month :D

You guys suck....looks like I'll be picking up some extra wire!

If you need it for a dyno, just toss it whereever it fits under the engine bay. You can relocate it down the line...........

I picked up some wires today and borrowed a soldering iron from work...But I may just do that depending on how lazy I get tomorrow. :D

Sounds good. You can tell that I can be extremely lazy at times, and I like to share with others how they can also be lazy. :D
I'm sure you'll have it whipped in no time. :nice:

I would put it in the fenders, i know someone who had an msd in their glove box and it would overheat sometimes if he didnt leave the glove box open. I definitely would try and keep it out of the engine bay though.

Got it mounted in the glove box today! If it starts to overheat, Im thinking I can get a 12v computer case fan and install it in the glovebox too.

Only problem is the rev limiter isn't working, but that's not real important at the moment.
