i spun two bearings and threw a rod...maybe more havent figured out all the damage yet. 32,000 miles only

anyway, so far im checking into www.vtengines.com or www.houstonperformance.com

houston performance will build me 4.6 2v short block. Motor includes new Windsor block, Cobra crank, Eagle rods, JE pistons/rings .20 over 17cc dish, Federal Mogul bearings and ARP Main studs. All machine work and balancing is included for $3500.

just out of curiosity, whats the advantage of having a stroked motor for an extra 750? id like to have it built to handle a KB @ 14psi. i was thinking of using vt engines to build the heads for 2400 i think scott quoted me at.

of course there would be other little things to add in to the final price amount but thats the main idea...what would be your suggestions?

TIA

i went with modular powerhouse (used to be T&J's) www.modularpowerhouse.com cant beat the price, excellent customer service, and everything is top quality!!! the only thing is i just kept spending money, couldnt stop with just the necessary bottom end...you wont be disappointed with them

Modular powerhouse and don't look back! Tim and the boys over there are EXCEPTIONAL!

P.S - I know from experience, they built a motor for me when I had my GT, I was 100% satisfied.

I had my engine built at www.steenracing.com They've built a ton of high HP modulars and they're somewhat close to you, in Norfolk, VA.

Am I mistaking or doesn't Tim use VT engines?

I would have Modular Powerhouse build mine. I've heard nothing but good things about them. I wish I llived a little closer.

vtengines or modularpowerhouse, houston performance is good too.
Stroker it's kinda 50/50, some people think it's not worth it. ther is only a $500 difference for the stroked forged crank...up to u..
I'm also planning on dropping a built engine. Vtengines has some nice longblocks with stage 2 heads and cams

Yep I think Tim uses VT Engines.. They seem to work very closely together. I would vote for VT or Modular Powerhouse. Anytime I have asked either of them questions they have been fast as hell to get back to me and very friendly. Good customer service usually tells you a lot about the quality of the shop as far as I am concerned.

Tim builds his own engines plus he's a dealer for VT engines so you can go either way with Modular Powerhouse.
