I am getting ready for a 351 swap and want to know which intake will fit under my hood best?

I have a Cobra R hood so i have a little extra room to spare. I know for sure that the new TFS box intake won't fit unless i somehow drop the whole motor a few more inches which might be a possiblity?

Its going to be a bigger stroker and I will be adding a blower too.

Are you sure it wont fit?
What is the Cobra "R" hood,about 2.5"?

You could get a carb intake and a 90* elbow, you would only need to put in toghter and get everything to make it into fuel injection (rails,sensors,wiring,etc.).

Well the one other person i saw who tryed to put the tfs box intake on his 351 which he put into a 94 like mine he would have had to have like a 6" cowl to clear.

I am not sure if a EFI spider intake would work well with my combo or not. I know they are designed for higher rpms but maybe the blower would make up for that or something?

I thought the deck height on a 351 was only about 1 1/2 inches higher?

Get yourself a nice EFI Edelbrock Super Victor by Wilson Manifolds, Call Edelbrock forthe part#, then put a Reichard racing elbow on it , they make them custom for you, and you will have plenty of room. This setup is way shorter then the stock type intake plenums.

Here is a pic of the elbow on an engine, your Spacer & Throttle body would bolt on to it and then you would add your cold air K&N intake kit to it...

alright i will post my findings on the tfs box r intake:
Three inches of runner length
90mm throttle body opening.
Total runner length with this upper and an R-Series lower intake manifold is 9 inches on a 302 and 10.3 inches on a 351.

Here is how I handled getting my 351w under the stock hood without cutting anything, except the intake.
I tried to use 3/4" drop mounts but had serious clearance issues between the K-member and the Canton road pan. So, I took the Comp Cams Box upper and had 3/4" shaved off the bottom. That is the limit as the TB cable now is within .010" of riding on the stock cast valve covers. Tall valve covers will not be an option. The lower is from a 351W Lightning. I still have the insulating blanket on the underside of the hood, and there is only very slight wear.
I don't know how you car compares to a fox body, but remember you can modify aftermarket parts to fit your application. Even if using an Al upper, it can be cut shorter and the flanges welded back on.
Let me know if you would like pics.

Heck, you could use a Edelbrock TorkerII intake, whitch is a single plane desinged for low hood clearance.Just get the same FI hook up for that.
