i need to do the first change on my tremec 5 spd. has 15k on it.

what fluid should i go with?

Royal purple syncromax
Mobil 1 synthetic ATF
Valvoline Dex 3

also is it 3.25quarts or 3.7quarts?

Royal purple syncromax . that's what I used when I change mine about month ago. My 2nd gear grind is gone yayayy
I am loving Royal purple syncromax . I even change my rearend with Royal purple 75w 140

I just did the same this weekend past... went with Mobil 1, cuz there wasn't any RP around here. So far so good. I definitely notice the difference from the stock stuff. The only thing I would hafta warn, the darn drain plug is towards the rear of the car, I had the front jacked up quite a bit on jack stands and it was still tricky to get at lol.

I went with 3L (3.2Qts?)... darn americans lol... adopt the metric system already!

Good to see a fellow Jeeper thats into Mustangs as well... Im an XJ'er.

I went with Mobil 1 sythetic ATF, but I have a T-45. It better do something, its damn expensive.

yeah the xj has alot of mods for hard 4x4 stuff, not just dirt roads,

anyway i put the synchromax in today. i think about 3.2-3.5 quarts, the RP bottle was not marked off at 1/2 1/4 quart like most are..

i also decided to put on the second stock shifter rubber boot that goes under the "main" rubber boot to quiet it down some more..

the original fluid was pretty dark, but did not see any glitter in there i have missed gears a couple times on this thing
