which between synthetic and semi-syn.

Is it okay to switch between synthetic and semi-syn?(Mobil1 and Motorcraft)

do you mean intermix the two? or go back and forth between oil changes? mobil one change, then motorcaraft next, mobil, etc....

no not mixing just one oil change run Mobil1 and the next run Motorcraft.

it wont hurt your engine. both should offer great lubrication. the fully synthetic should make things move a little but easier and give you a few more ponies, but you would never notice the difference.

yeah I know that the full syn is better but I change my oil at 3000 miles anyways. Even running full syn I still change it every 3000. I know that it is not neccessary to change it that often with a full syn. What interval does Ford recommend using their oil?

same here. i use mobil 1 fully synthetic and still change it every 3000 miles. ford recommends 5000 miles between oil changes, as per the owners manual. the ford dealer will still tell you that you need to change it every 3000, just so they can get your $30 more often.

Mobil 1 is good stuff, but if you're changing your oil every 3K you're wasting your money on it. The Motorcraft syn blend is good enough.
