Which cams should I go with?

the flat top pistons in the 98 will not decrease ptv clearance with PI heads. Ive read many threads on this, mainly posted by greenbird on the mondulardepot and the gererally concesus was that it was not true. Ill see if I can find the threads tommorrow.

No. The stock springs will handle whatever the stock cam can give them. The 262 wouldn't require new springs. The 270 should have them though. But, you talked about just going with a supercharger and forgetting cams, etc. I'm not sure you would be "happy" because, while the s/c is great for making some power, you would need to forge your lower end to handle it (I found that out the hard way), and then your weak link would be the heads and cams. Doesn't do a lot of good to have a huffer trying to shove air through small holes which aren't open very long or very high. It's great for boost though! Work on making a strong short block and work on the heads and cams before you do power adders. Just my opinion. Good luck. (Forget aftermarker valve covers. Cost too much and contribute nothing.)

Correct. The dish size doesn't mean anything....the valves hit the crown area of the piston.
