I was wondering which kit I shuld get for my currently stock 289. I might get one of these.http://www.flatlanderracing.com/intakecarbford23.html
I would like to eventually get about 300-350hp from my engine. Besides this I will probably get new exhaust, cam, heads, etc. and maybe a stroker kit. I won't be getting this stuff in the immediate future, but maybe in a year or so. The car will be daily driven, but that's not very much because my work is real close and if I have to go far I will drive adifferent vehicle.

You can do it for much much less $$$. Pick up a used intake ( Edelbrock F4B, Performer RPM , Ford A321, C90X, Shelby Cobra high rise) These can all be had for $100-125 ( or even less) Good used Holley 600-650's can also be had for similar prices.

....no finders fee, either :flag:

That post appears to be from september 2001 (unless I'm misreading which is possible). That said I just recently changed out my Holley 750 model 7160 for a BG Speed Demon Carb. 20+ hp increase and much better response. I don't know what dependabilty will be like, but in the short haul it feels great. I am now a believer in BG in a big way.

Not if you are planning on performance cam and heads on your 289... 650 CFM isn't too big, in fact, it would be better choice for you especially your goal of 300 - 350 hp. 525-575 CFM would be too small for that range of HP.

Thanks, I think that I want to get a Demon over a Edelbrock. I'll probably check out the swap meet. and 650CFM is too big, isn't it? wouldn't 525-575CFM be a better size for my motor?

Vacuum Secondary carbs can be run at bigger CFM ratings than DP style.

PS I got a nice Speed Demon 650VS for sale if you are interested :)
