I have a 351c 2v with the stock iron heads that have been machined.
Comp Ratio is 10 to 1 with a Max RPM of 7300.
@.050 Intake Duration is 254 Max lift 105
Exhaust Duration is 262 Mas Lift 115

Car is mostly for the strip with rare street use. Nitrous is planned for the future.

I called both holley and BG and got very different recommendations from both, so I was wondering what the carb experts around here would recommend? Thanks for looking, cheers!

in this case i would go with a 750 double pumper carb, either the holley or the speed demon carb.

I would call pro-systems. At the very least, talk to their techs and ask for their opinion. My experience with them was great.

If you trust CFM calculators try this one to get you into the ballpark.

well, BG rates their carbs a little differently than Holley which would probably explain the different recommendations. for the Holley i would recommend a 750 dual feed vacumm secondary if you have an auto trans double pumper mechanical secondary if manual trans.

BG would be 725 and same recommendations for manual and auto trans

possible exception would be if you have a really high stall convertor, over 3500 stall, then i would probably use a mechanical secondary carb for either manual or auto trans but that would also depend on gearing, if 3.50 or over definitely use the mech. sec, if under 3.50 gearing i'd still use the vac. sec. carb.

I want to know how he got a 10 to 1 comp ratio with the stock 2 bbl heads. I think I'd go with a 650-700 cfm double pumper or a 750 VS.

I personaly have had great results with Quick Fuel carbs. I run a 750 Pro series. I would highly recomend it.

Well, they were 9:1 stock.
I am curious to know how as well, but it's not a stretch.

750 Holley DP

Holley 750 DP with mechanical secondaries. That cam will use it. 10:1 with pistons is no problem, or milling the heads, or a thinner head gasket.

OK, domed, I got it, I didn't realize they worked with the open chambers too. I fugured he was doing it with the flat tops.

Another vote for calling pro-systems. You won't get let down.
