Well for chrismas i'd like to get a better cell phone. I HAD a Sony T637 but it broke. I thought about just getting another one, since i'd have an extra battery, and 2 of all the accesories, but i didnt like the fact that it didnt have speakerphone.

I'd like to get a smartphone, but i dont think i'd ever use all the features, and they're expensive. What would be a good all around phone, requirements are a camera, speakerphone, and bluetooth. I'm not a big fan of flip-phones, but it doesnt matter.

I really like my e815 from Motorola! (heres some info: http://www.mobiledia.com/phones/motorola/e815.html)

I guess you have to take into account your provider though, who do you have?

I have had good luck with LG's cells. I have the VX5200 right now. It is nothing fancy but it is cheap and works very well.

I've heard bad things about razrs myself, generally just complaints about lower media quality, pics etc, AND really.. - who wants to be a trend whore?

This is my exerience with cell phones, not the service providers.

Sony/Ericsson: They are rice. They have have all the bells and whistles but their performance sucks. I had two and both had terrible reception. The batteries wouldn't charge from humidity.

Motorola: They are like GM. You get what you pay for. The higher priced ones are much better quality than the inexpensive ones.

Nokia: IMO they are the Cadillac of phones. I know that's a GM product but at one time to say that something was the Cadillac of its kind meant something. Best reception and never had to return one. The looks aren't the best but they're reliable.

Right now I have a black Motorola V3 Razr. Yes, it's trendy but its sleek and fits in your shirt pocket unnoticed. However, ONE drop and its done. $200 bucks out the window. Same for the blackberry. My Nokias were so ugly I used to drop them on purpose just to get another one, but the Nokias seemed to be unbreakable. Never had a LG, Siemens, Samsung, or Audiovox BTW.

dude ive got cingular too and ive got the Audiovox SMT-5600 Smartphone. Let me tell you, its probably the BEST phone ive ever had!! Its windows based, its got internet explorer, windows media player/mp3 player, bluetooth, candybar style (non flip), you can recieve e-mail through ms outlook, umm just about every feature in the world besides a qwerty keyboard. The phone came out like 2 years ago in UK, and it still wins comparisons against phones that were just realeased. You can expand memory up to 1GB with a mini-sd card (like $70). And theres sooo many programs you can download to personalize it. So yeah do a little research on this phone and pretty much everyone will say its awesome.

I have a razr through T-mobile, I used to have that nokia that flipped open for texting through att/cingular. The razr is much better I'm not sure if it is the phone's technology(quad band) or the provider. If you have a sams club membership, go there you can get better deals than any where.
