which driveshaft saftey loop

I have the fms aluminum driveshaft and i was wondering what drive shaft saftey loop would fit the best around the driveshaft ?

i use a metco i think its got the best fit mounting and its lighter than most cost a bit more but you get what you pay for

man there are tons of them out there............UPR,Lakewood,BBK just about everyone has em now and they only cost about 20 bucks and they will all fit the alum d/s.

I use a lakewood, for the install, you may need to remove your front seats to get access to the bolts. I avoided that and had it welded it.

I looked around alot and the one I liked the best was HPM -- repackaged as a FMS piece. It's more square than most I've seen, but it actually follows the contours of the floor around the tunner and the floor pans, so there is PLENTY of room. It fit real nice, came with all the bolts, is anodized, probably like most all the other ones.

Yeah, that's how mine is- hugs the floor contours nicely; and I've got a lot of S**+ under there that Ford never intended too. It's from Competition Engineering, fit my FMS aluminum DS fine. Think it was about $40 from Summit, it's a four peice kit so you can drop the shaft without removing the whole thing- nice, so you can weld it like sirsureshot said. Been in there over two years no trouble.

I see what you mean about that -- I meant that mine hugs the floor ALL the way around, even above the driveshaft and in the edges of the trans tunnel. Truth be told, the only place it would intrude at all is right under the driveshaft. Every place else is so flush against the floor you don't even know it's there. I think mine was about the same, in the $40 range from Summit all anodized.

I tried to take a pic of mine before, but it was difficult to get a good one unless directly underneath. Let me try and attach a pic I found:

I found a picture of when I was installing subframe connectors on my car. You can see how the loop fits, I'm very happy with it. Drilling holes wasn't bad, but an extra hand would have been a big help.

BTW, I ordered the FMS loop which is the same, but cheaper through Summit, and I got one that even came in an HPM box.

I'm running a Jeg's loop on mine with alum. shaft. It's a full ring around shaft, it doesn't un-bolt like some pictured above.
