I'm sure I know what the consensus will be here, but I have a quick scenario to ponder. I have to get my car running relatively soon and have a couple of options, but want some opinions.

I can put my old 190k mile motor back into my car and run it as a stock motor or use my 351. Both engines need a rebuild, but the 302 will run as is, just needs bored/honed, etc (smokes badly). I know, I know, seems like a no-brainer.

Whichever combo I go with, I need a new intake, distributor, carb, throttle cable, a/c delete kit and headers. In addition to these items, if I do the 351, I need all of the extra parts (balancer, flexplate, oil pan and accessories, as well as a set of heads). I am not sure if I will need another hood or not (I guess it depends on which intake). I plan on getting a set of the Pro Topline heads, too (at some point).

I am sure I can guess where the responses are going to be, but I just want some opinions.

Thanks folks,

what i would give for an extra 351w laying around. If they both need rebuilt. I would definitly go with the 351 even though you will need heads ect.. It will be worth it. Also depends on how much money you have....

I'd say 351 stroked to 393.
Only price diffrence will be a new crank.
stock rods work
and you'll need new pistons anyway so

393 is my vote.
