Which Flowmasters?

How can I tell which flowmaster mufflers are on my car? The tone is okay after 2500 rpm, but before that is sounds like $hi**!

get under there and look at them they should have a part number on them post that number....

They should have a part number on them like bill302 pointed out. I believe it's embossed into the muffler itself.

Old flows seem to have the number in tiny stamped print near the hanger bracket. Newer flows have it etched, like Matt said. You might have to do some cleaning to find a stamped number (I never found mine till I had them off the car).

When you describe the sound as SH^% is it because it is quiet or just a drone?

It's a muffled hum. Like air can't ecape..... How many didgets is the part#? I found a bunch next to fgn patents.

That should be the numbers you need, Dont remember how many numbers, but I just did a google search with them and found my model.

I've got a pro-chamber before the flows and after my flowtech lt's. Could that be the restriction?

the delta flows do not sound nearly as good as original 40s plus you said you have a prochamber pipe. If i were you i would put an h pipe on there

I dont know. I am running the Super 40's with an o/r X pipe and really like the sound. They actully seem to drone LESS than my old Dynomax Super Turbos and sound better at idle.

I was surprised when I noticed a huge reduction in drone when I switched from my dynomax super turbos to delta 40's.
