I thought the same thing before, but there is a difference from standard to hipo z-bar configuration, but have not actually tested clearances with the hipo version yet. I am running tri-ys and the stock z-bar linkage on my 1966. The lower portion of the z-bar near the adjusting rod pin will just hit the tri-ys, but this was easily fixed by cutting the "corner" section off near the pin, still leaving enough material for strength. Fits and works fine now.

Not true, i have hooker comps on my 351w and the drop bracket is not needed. This seems to be the case with most 351w motors due to the increased deck height, but most 289/302 motors with headers seem to require the drop bracket.

The generic Tri-y's usually dont fit C-6 or AOD automatics. Though the Doug's may.

I am thinking of using this company for my 69 fastback with a 351W, C6 auto tranny and a Randalls Rack and Pinion, nice thing is that they have experience with the Randalls rack and know how to work around it, as well as understanding the difficulties of getting around the C6. I bet they would have some good info for your setup as well as he told me they are not premade, but rather they match them up to whatever cylinder head you are using.
