ok.. ive been looking for a set of ported e7s for alittle bit now and ive narrowed it down to two.. the first set has bigger valves (1.9 and 1.6) with a 3 angle valve job, ARP bolts, trick flow vavle springs, and hardend retainers and keepers.. the second set have been ported out to the same specs as thumpers heads, three angle valve job, and stock valve springs.. i kno that with the stock valve size u keep low end torque but by going to 1.9 and 1.6 valves would i loose alot of torque.. theyre both about the same amount of money and to me it seems like the first set is the better of the two.. which do u guys think would be best??

As you said.. the velocity is the key!! also it has been written that the 1.94 valves ( in a stock head) will have a bit of a shrouding problem and the 1.85s are actually better!! But.... I feel either heads will work for you !! the larger valve MIGHT also have a piston to valve issue. the stock Ford pistons have a notch that will recieve the 1.85 valve fine... but then again the 1.90 is a larger dia and will just be outside the notch!! Un-cool?? so keep the cam small and be sure to check p/v !! cool??

As far as ported like mine??? be carefull there ok. there are a bazillion "Ported heads" out there and the word ported CAN mean anything!! But really, ANYTHING is better than the stock heads as far as a performance gain... right?? From your post... they both will work for you!! I fee the smaller valve will have less issues and pull the same power up to higher rpm levels.... SOOooo..... do the cheaper of the two !! cool??

no pun intended to mr. thumper...........but a set of P heads would be the choice to go in my opinion. under 250$ a piece.
haveing the P's massaged after aquireing them will yield even better flow figures then the E7's. massaged.
that was the case with the P's i reworked.
but then not everybody has the knowledge to port & blend pockets neither.
in my case it dosent matter what make engine i'm working on, all the heads get reworked.
Mr. Thumper im not bashing your products........just merely stateing on the newer castings there is plenty room for improvement also 2 be had......
not satisfied with production flow.

heads...

Dont know how we got here??? I think it was of the two sets he had.. or could get?? Cool?? As for slaming MY (?) product, you just lost me?? you bet of the three stock heads the P's are the best. As for port work , the better the base the better the end results... and I think we all know that!!

And to answer HIS question on , of the ones he was looking at... which would suit him best. Also just to be cautioned on "Port work" , as there is now guides on what that is... but I know you knew that , right!! The end results will be better with the Ps, all else being the same. Do to the design of the whole head. But the Bigger valve issues is different than flow numbers... no matter WHAT heads he uses and that needed to be addressed. Cool?

Also off point here, get a set of P's ( or any used heads ), it is always better to go thru them. right?? performance valve job (185.00- 210.00 ) tank mag and surface flat..(60.00) new seals and "possibly " springs.. ( 125.00) So... now those 250.00 Heads are up to about $620.00 and that is with out port work!! BUT... again even that isnt an issue here.

"of the two ..... which would be better.." So, I just answered the question, Cool??And I think I just went off for no reason... and should erase all this... but hey, The colors are cool so I'll just say...
